AMA Achievements to date;
Provision of clean and potable water for all households in 2 states, unity and Warap states.
135 water points are functioning well giving water to some 33,750 households.
32 (+2+ 1+ teams of hand pump mechanics established and trained.
32 village level committees established trained and working well.
28 teams of water source management committees established, trained and working well.
A drilling rig acquired and functioning well.
A drilling team constituted and working well.
To establish education infrastructure in unity state with particular emphasis on leer and Mayiandit counties of unity state.
46 teachers trained in 9 months teachers’ course.
5 PTAs trained in five schools in Leer County.
16 class rooms, 4 offices and 4 stores constructed for four schools with permanent materials.
Numerous school materials supplied to schools in leer and Mayiandit County.
200 trained and experienced teachers recruited from east Africa and placed in the 9 counties of unity state and working well.
Education monitoring system developed and one educationist recruited from east Africa and working well.
To reduce HIV prevalence and prevent transmission and save live more economically.
HIV/aid awareness campaigns done.
A Nuer booklet on HIV /Aids done.
A film on HIV developed in Nuer.
32 cassettes on HIV developed and distributed.
HIV/Aids mainstreamed in AMA programming.
To build the capacity of local peace actors through training conflict assessment, conflict mapping, conflict analysis, and development of early warning system.
2 peace committees in Payianjiar, and Mayiandit counties trained.
3 HF radios and other equipments supplied and installed.
One chamber of commerce trained in leer county, Mayiandit, Payinjiar and Koch and supported to develop there office.
Capacity building for civil society groups done in leers for youth, women and traditional structures for Leer, Mayiandit and Koch.
To reintegrate and reinstate returnees in of Leer, Koch Mayiandit Guit and Ruweng counties;
4000 mosquito nets supplied to returnees in these counties.
To develop systems and structure leading to food sovereignty for communities AMA work with.
Seeds and tools distributed to farmers in Leer County.
10 community nutrition committees organized and trained in vegetable production and use of vegetables.
Assorted vegetable seeds distributed.
